Sindh Govt Stresses on Covid-19 SOPs, Bilawal Flouts

Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited Thatta district in Sindh and addressed a large gathering of stalwarts flouting covid-19 SOPs.

PPP supporters assembled at Makli Bypass to welcome Bilawal Bhutto but the gathering was observed with no social distancing and the masses along with party leadership were seen without face masks.

Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F) leader Nusrat Seher Abbasi also poured scorn on the party.

Sindh government has previously been emphasizing on social distancing and SOPs and for this, the closure of schools was extended for another week last week.

However, social media users are criticizing that the PPP-led Sindh government has been preaching what it is not practicing itself.

Not only this, earlier this week, PPP arranged a corner meeting just after announcing the extension of the schools’ closure.

The glimpses of the meeting, shared by Information Minister Saeed Ghani on his Twitter handle, showed the crowd hugely disregarding covid-19 precautionary measures.

Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah directed the schools to make sure 100% vaccination of teachers and parents before reopening.

However, the same clause doesn’t seem to apply to the political leaders and their gatherings.
