Sindh Nursing Controller Skips Punitive Action
Sindh Nursing Controller Khair-un-Nisa issued transfer orders of 71 staff nurses, eight nursing instructors, and five clinical instructors
The nurses’ organizations in Sindh have expressed grave concerns over inaction against the secretary of the Sindh health ministry. The related secretary has not initiated action against the Sindh nursing controller on abuse of power.
Sources say the Sindh nursing controller, Khair-un-Nisa, has political backing owing to which the secretary is adamant to take any action against the official.
The nurses’ organizations have demanded departmental action against the controller and deployment of an eligible official on the seat.
Notably, the Sindh Nursing Controller Khair-un-Nisa issued transfer orders of 71 staff nurses, eight nursing instructors, and five clinical instructors.
Following the orders, the Sindh health secretary sought clarification from the controller. In this regard, Deputy Health Secretary Riaz Jakhrani said that it was a serious case of power abuse.
He added that instead of retracing the orders, the nursing controller issued another notification according to which the transfer orders were not withdrawn but held in abeyance. This is a double violation, he added.
News360 learned that it was not a draft that was sent to the health secretary.
Abusing powers, the controller issued a notification violating the protocol, Jahkhrani said.
The official said a draft contained did not contain an outward number and signatures of the authority.
He added the controller nursing also seems to be ignorant of official matters and language. Jakhrani assured that an action against the official would be taken soon.
