The death of an employee from a reputable media organization Geo News has not only left a lot of people astounded and some workers of the same organization revealed the bitter side of the story, connecting it with the financial crisis.

Mir Hashmat Ali Munawar was serving as senior Human Resources Officer (HRO) at Geo News and breathed his last on September 22.

Munawar had been part of the organization for many years and his dedication was highly regarded by his colleagues.

Soon after the news was confirmed, the management published an obituary disclosing details of funeral of the deceased.

Some sources claimed that Munawar lost the battle of life from a brain stroke.

Moreover, Nehal Alvi who is also associated with the same organization as the personal secretary of Managing Director (MD) News Azhar Abbas shared the loss.

Sending his last prayers to the deceased senior HR person, Nehal Alvi said that though death is inevitable but the media organizations didn’t care if Munawar was facing a severe financial crisis like the rest of the workers.

He revealed that Geo employees aren’t getting their salaries on time for the last 9 months and therefore, a lot of them are finding it hard to make the ends meet.

Nehal in high dudgeon said that channel doesn’t take any responsibility of its workers neither by raising their pay nor providing other benefits.

But in return, it expects its employees to work dedicatedly.

Agreeing with Nehal Alvi, another employee named Ahsan Ilyas expressed that instead of treating everybody equally, the owners of Geo are only benefitting the departmental heads.

Further, Ahsan said that HR should collaborate with employees rather than employers and sort out the issues so that no more such sudden deaths are reported in the future.
