Flood Affectees in Dadu Face Problems as Admin Silent

Villagers said the district administration has turned a deaf ear at the situation as nobody has reached out to them for assistance

Dozens of homes were devastated by the flooding in the Johi Tehsil of Dadu in Sindh, and the affectees are forced to live on the streets.

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had already warned of torrential rains across Sindh and several Balochistan districts with a warning of flooding.

Though the situation remained under controlled in different parts of the province, Johi Tehsil was badly affected.

According to the affectees, the district administration has turned a deaf ear to them as none of the officials have reached out to them for assistance.

Although the related deputy commissioner (DC) conducted a meeting in this regard but no action was executed.

The flooding has disrupted electric supply and cellular service and it washed away roads owing to which the locals are moving through rutty paths.

The villagers are facing a shortage of food items as no relief teams have arrived in the affected area so far.

The residents of Johi tehsil also couldn’t access nearby villages for their shelter.
