Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, who was already upset over the statement of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, became angrier at the statement of MQM MPA Javed Hanif and Jamaat-e-Islami MPA Syed Abdul Rasheed in the budget session of the Sindh Assembly. Addressing the budget session of the Sindh Assembly, Sharjeel Inam Memon said that Karachi is ours, these people say that people in Karachi come from Afghanistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab. They come from Sindh. I want to tell you that people from Sindh will come to Karachi because Karachi is Sindh. No one’s father has the power to stop us from coming. Karachi is Sindh, and Karachi will remain Sindh.

Sharjeel Inam Memon said that these people sit here and taunt us that Sindh people come to Karachi. Who are you? Those who say that they come from Sindh. He who dreamed of separating Karachi from Sindh got locked in London.

MPA Syed Abdul Rasheed said that the development of Karachi is being talked about, while poverty is widespread in Sindh. The child of the poor does not even have a shoe on his feet.

Criticizing the performance of the Sindh government, MQM MPA Javed Hanif said that there was no improvement in health, education and law and order in the budget of the last 15 years. It is the responsibility of the government to provide security to the people. Who is responsible for protection? He said that 65 lakh children are out of schools, teachers have been recruited. What are they teaching the children?

Javed Hanif said that 48% children cannot read simple Urdu and Sindhi. Schools do not have infrastructure. Big claims are made but AIDS is increasing in Sindh, hepatitis C, cancer is increasing, polio has not been eradicated till date. Thousands of billions are spent on agriculture. I don’t know where they go, city people don’t get jobs, people are being brought here from outside the city.

Commenting on the statement of Sharjeel Inam Memon, analysts said that Sharjeel Memon sir, you have never considered Sindh as Sindh, what will make Karachi Sindh? You belong to Thatta, your whole city was in the grip of cyclone but you are moving in Karachi. There are various mafias active in your city who have ruined people’s lives. And you claim to make Karachi Sindh.
