Tayyaba Gul’s allegations: Who was real facilitator of NAB chairman Javed Iqbal?

A statement by Geo News senior reporter Azaz Syed refuted the allegations of Tayyaba Gul against former prime minister Imran Khan.

A statement by Geo News senior reporter Azaz Syed refuted the claim of Tayyaba Gul, a woman accused of harassing former National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal, against former prime minister Imran Khan.

A woman named Tayyaba Gul had alleged that she was kept at the Prime Minister’s House for 45 days as the former premier Imran Khan was afraid that she would provide evidence to Geo News against the NAB chairman when the watchdog arrested Mir Shakilur Rehman. She was taken hostage in the house and her mobile phone was taken from her, she alleged.

Gul levelled the allegations against ex-PM Khan while talking to Shahzeb Khanzada on Geo News.

Tayyaba Gul alleged that the former prime minister had obtained her videos against Iqbal and closed his NAB cases, promising her to provide justice by keeping her at the PM House for 1.5 months.

Senior journalist Azaz Syed, while talking on Dawn News program Zara Hat Kay said that when NAB chairman Javed Iqbal was the chairman NAB with full force, many other people were also protecting him, whose name should not be mentioned here.

Syed further said that Tayyaba Gul had claimed that 40 complaints were lodged against her then it would not be registered at the request of the NAB chairman but from those who were protecting the then watchdog’s chief.

“For us, Javed Iqbal is an ordinary man but he is not. It is the name of a mindset and a network,’ added the journalist.

Azaz Syed said that former Prime Minister Imran Khan wanted to remove Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal from his post but regained the control of NAB with the help of his ‘old friends’ and managed to create a media blackout for Tayyaba Gul.

Syed reiterated Tayyaba Gul’s allegation that former Prime Minister Imran Khan not only kept the woman in the PM House to settle NAB cases against him but also extended her tenure instead of dismissing him. He questioned the influential person who brought the woman to the PM House.

Analysts believe that the real question is who brought Tayyaba Gul to the Prime Minister’s House because if Tayyaba Gul had been in the Prime Minister’s House for 1.5 months, her movements would have been recorded in the PM House’s logbook.

They say that the guests who come to the Prime Minister’s House have a mandatory entry in the log book and this log book is under the control of the PM’s Military Secretary who is an officer of a brigadier rank.
