Commenting on freedom of expression and PMDA bill, the journalist asserted that freedom of expression is the right given to all by birth.
Instead of fighting for it, the media workers should raise their voices for the basic rights of the community.
While citing an incident that took place with one of the refined media man Qaiser Mehmood, Bhatti revealed that he died of cancer with nothing in his hands for treatment.
“After 40 years of service for reputed organizations, Sajjad had to ask for funds for his treatment”, he added.
Not only this, Waqar Bhatti shared the story of 2 other media men who are currently in a state of penury and unable to bear the expenses of their families.
One of them was expelled from his job as he took sick leave of 3 months after sustaining head injuries in an accident.
The journalist emphasized that media workers have much more intense problems than PMDA.
