Why Hashim Dogar resigns as Punjab home minister?

Sources told News360 that Dogar faced anger from Imran Khan after he made a statement about the long march not being facilitated by the Punjab government

Punjab Home Minister Col (retd) Hashim Dogar resigned Tuesday from his post which raised questions about the reason for his decisions amid the crucial time in national politics.

Hashim Dogar sent his resignation to Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi in which he stated, “It was a great pleasure to have served as Minister for Home and Prison Department under your able command.” He also shared a copy of his resignation letter on Twitter.

“I feel regretful to inform you that I shall not be able to continue due to my personal commitments and some health issues. I was and will always be available to serve you and my party chairman for the time to come.”

Dogar said he will continue to serve as a loyal worker of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

After the development, anchorperson Gharidah Farooqi claimed that Dogar resigned to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s agenda to prepare his followers against Pakistan Army and sensitive institutions.

Dogar denied the allegations and said on Twitter that it was a false report as he resigned due to personal reasons and he will stay loyal to Imran Khan.

Sources told News360 that Dogar faced anger from Imran Khan after he made a statement about the long march not being facilitated by the Punjab government or police, whereas, Punjab CM Pervaiz Elahi also complained about his poor performance.

Sources added that CM Pervaiz Elahi expressed disappointment regarding Dogar for failing to give a tough time to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).

They said that Khan will arrive in Lahore today and finalise the next home minister. Sources said that Mian Aslam Iqbal and Omar Sarfraz Cheema are among strong candidates for the positions.
