Messi Becomes a Free Bird as Deal With Barcelona Expires

The new avenues open for the agile footballer Lionel Messi, called one of the greats to play the game, as his deal with Barcelona expires.

Messi is now a free bird and open to be purchased by any other football club as his contract with Barcelona has expired as June ended.

The Spanish club is still hopeful that the Argentine footballer would reink the deal with them.

The football experts also think that Messi would have to return to his teenage football club as his value, 700 million Euro, is enormously high which no other clubs in the world can afford.

The adroit footballer is currently busy playing for Argentina at Copa America and become the first Argentine player to appear in 148 international games.

However, Messi is a free bird now and the club’s fans are anxious if he retains his stay at Camp Nou, the stadium of Barcelona club.

The star footballer had expressed his desire to leave the club in August last year.

Later in September, he confirmed his stay at the Spanish football club as nobody would be able to pay 700 million Euro for his release from Barcelona.

The details of the veiled contract between Barcelona and Messi were revealed by a Spanish daily El Mundo in January this year.

The football club had announced taking action against the newspaper for leaking contract details.

Before a month of the end of Messi’s contract, the rumors circulated that Paris SG – a French football club – was closely monitoring the contract situation.

Born in 1987 in Argentina, Messi shifted to Spain to join Barcelona at age of13 and made his debut for the club in October 2004. Since then, he plays for the Spanish club that was his nursery.
