What’s so Bizarre About This PSL 6?

Win the toss – choose to bowl first – and chase the target – sounds like a new spell that all winning captains have learned about

The Pakistan cricket team has been infamous in regards to chasing targets but the teams in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 are turning the tide and breaking the curse and the fans term it the most bizarre thing about this season.

Win the toss – choose to bowl first – and chase the target – sounds like a new spell that all winning captains have learned about.

All six matches played in the cricket league have been won by the chasing teams.

There were only two instances where the chasing side had to bat to get less than 150 runs to bag victory.

The inaugural match where Karachi Kings easily chased 121 against Quetta Gladiators and the second where Lahore Qalandars put 143 on the board while chasing 141 against Peshawar Zalmi.

Otherwise, the remaining four instances were high-scoring chases.

But since the first two matches, the targets achieved by Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi, and United again were 151, 179, 194, and 197 respectively.

Another interesting fact is the achievement of targets before the end of 20 overs.

There hasn’t been a single match in the PSL 6 so far in which all 120 balls have been bowled in the second inning.

The sudden development has startled cricket lovers not just in Pakistan but around the world.

This is something strange as overall, the national team’s chasing record at the international level hasn’t been good.

It relies on the formula of bat first- put a decent total- and defend.

However, the coincidences in PSL 6 are rather bizarre for the fans but they are thus getting to watch thrilling matches.
