“Garifunas” Commemorated 224 Years of Being Part of Honduras

African descendant community in Honduras, known as “Garifunas” commemorated 224 years of being a part of Honduras’ population.

In 1797, initial African settlers landed on the Honduran Caribbean coast. They came from the islands of Saint Vincent and Grenadines.
