Samreen Solangi: A Skilled Artisan of Mohenjo-Daro

Not privileged but beautifully skilled artisan Samreen Solangi was born in 2001 in a family of artisans in Mohenjo-Daro.

She learned the skill from her father and grandfather who have been associated with handicraft-making for ages.

Samreen started taking interest in making sculptures and jewelry at the age of 13 and her skill was further nurtured by Sindh Rural Support Organization.

While talking to News360, Samreen shared that artisans need a special type of mud to carve different shapes and figures on it.

“My handicrafts are famous not only in Pakistan but all over the world”, she added.

Father of Samreen told News360 that he has 6 daughters and he taught the skill to Samreen and now she is happily earning bread for the family.
