Biden’s Team Has a Pro-Kashmir Freedom Female Official

Her inclusion is a beacon of hope for many besieged Kashmiris facing atrocities in the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK)

US President Joe Biden’s team has a female Indian-American member who is a pro-Kashmir freedom struggle through her family connection and testament of atrocities faced by her besieged nation in the occupied valley.

Sameera Fazili is one of the 20 Indian-Americans to be part of the US President Joe Biden’s administration and her inclusion is a beacon of hope for many besieged Kashmiris facing atrocities in the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK).

She would serve as Deputy Director of the National Economic Council (NEC) which is a policy-making body of the White House.

She also served as a senior advisor in the NEC in the Obama Administration.

Sameera has a unique connection with Kashmir-cause as Mubeen Shah is Sameera’s maternal cousin.

Mubeen was held by the Indian government under Public Safety Act (PSA) after the revocation of the special status of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK).

Due to the strong connections in Washington, the administration withdrew the PSA and released Mubeen Shah.

Sameera’s Kashmir-connection is not limited to here. Her sister Yousra Fazili is a human rights lawyer and was among the Kashmiris who testified Indian atrocities at a US Congressional hearing on the human rights situation in the occupied valley in 2019.

Sameera used her connections in the US administration and remained vocal against the detention of her cousin.

Sameera had said that she could not even explain how her family was bonded.

With the inclusion of a pro-Kashmir freedom female official in Biden’s team, it could be hoped that a Kashmiri individual at the highest level of the US government would play her due role in ending the plight of her native race back in India.
