Malala and Greta Celebrate Their Accomplishments on Twitter

Raising awareness on education and climate change are two passions which Malala and Greta promote respectively

Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai and young climate change activist Greta Thunberg are two rising stars whose light of spreading awareness in educating women and protecting the environment has spread around the world whereas the young activists celebrated their accomplishments on Twitter.

The last few days have been promising for both young activists as they celebrated accomplishments in personal lives.

The US Congress passed the ‘Malala Yousafzai Scholarship Bill’ in recognition of the services of Pakistan’s Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai.

The bill requires USAID to award at least 50% of scholarships under a Pakistan-based higher education scholarship program to Pakistani women from 2020 to 2022 across a range of academic disciplines and in accordance with existing eligibility criteria.

While the act was passed by the House of Representatives last year in the month of March, it was voted into existence on January 1, 2021.

Currently, it has been sent to President Donald Trump to sign it into law.

Malala tweeted about the achievement on the microblogging website Twitter.

She thanked the US Congress and said that she was very happy with the decision to give 50% of scholarships to women in higher education in Pakistan.

On the other side, Swedish climate-change activist Greta Thunberg celebrated her birthday on Sunday by trolling climate change deniers on Twitter.

She also expressed her happiness on turning 18 and said she is finally free as she touched the age.

Greta Thunberg and Malala Yousafzai both spoke out about two important issues and both were criticized.

In 2014, Malala was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her work on women’s education while Thunberg was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2019 and 2020.

Greta Thunberg is a Swedish climate change activist who is globally known for challenging world leaders to take immediate action against climate change.

Thunberg initially got noticed for her blatant style of speaking style.

She criticizes world leaders for their failure to take what she considers sufficient action to address the climate crisis.

It should be noted that these two young women have also met each other.

Malala shared a photo of herself with Greta on an Oxford University bench on Twitter on February 25, 2020. On the other hand, Greta Thunberg has named Malala Yousafzai as her role model.
