KARACHI: At least three people sustained injuries following a blast in a drainage line in Karachi’s Mehmoodabad area.
A blast hit shops constructed on a drainage line in Karachi’s Mehmoodabad area, leaving three citizens injured. An eyewitness told News360 that the explosion was caused by the gas pressure in the drainage line.
Rescue teams have rushed to the scene and shifted the injured persons to the hospital. The wounded persons include 17-year-old Bilal, 20-year-old Dilawar and 11-year-old John.

Heavy contingents of police and Rangers also reached the incident’s site to assist the rescue activities.
Pictures of the scene showed debris of shops constructed on the drainage line while rescue workers were shifting injured persons to the Jinnah Hospital for medical assistance.
Earlier on December 18, more than 15 persons had lost their lives and over a dozen got injured in a horrible blast in a drainage line in Karachi’s Paracha Chowk of Sher Shah.
Following the explosion, the portion of a two-storey building housing a private bank and offices had caved in into the drainage line.
