The government has promulgated the Tax Laws Amendment Ordinance to identify the tax evaders with some noteworthy decisions for filers and non-filers.

As per details, filers not submitting their tax return will face stern actions that include blocking of SIM cards also.
On non-submission of tax returns, the FBR has been authorized to freeze bank accounts despite payment of taxes.

On the other hand, the non-filers would face disconnected telephone, electricity, and gas connections.
Not only this, various slabs of electricity bills for non-filer professionals have been taxed up to 35% and they will be deprived of all banking services.
Additionally, taxpayers have to ensure transparency while submitting their tax returns otherwise they may face huge fines and penalties.
In case of inaccurate information, a filer would have to pay a minimum fine of Rs 500,000 and a year in prison.
With the promulgation of the Tax Ordinance, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) have got access to the details of tax dodgers.
