Shagufta Ali Reveals Philanthropic Side of Legend Dilip Kumar
The actress revealed that the late Dilip Kumar paid for her father's surgery which had cost INR 600,000 some 38 years ago
The film legend of the sub-continent Mohammed Yusuf Khan, commonly known as Dilip Kumar was also a philanthropist and he sponsored the surgery of actress Shagufta Ali’s father.
The two have shared the screen in the Bollywood film Kanoon Apna Apna in 1989 and the stars were applauded for the on-screen chemistry.
Where the sad news of Dilip Kumar’s departure brought inscrutable countenance on the faces of millions of his fans, Shagufta was also in a state of shock as the legend lost the battle after a prolonged illness.

Shagufta revealed that the late Dilip Kumar had paid for her father’s surgery which had cost INR 600,000 some 38 years ago.
She added that her father was a close friend of Dilip Kumar.

Giving details of the procedure, she said it was successful as her father returned home after 2 months.
Shagufta recalls the acting legend’s memory as she is in a financial crunch after she was diagnosed with cancer.
She managed to arrange expenses after selling her jewelry and car to make ends meet after aid offers.
