In the meeting, the authorities said to change the status of an area, the residents are contacted and taken into confidence before concluding on the decision.
However, the situation is the opposite as the current government has bypassed the residents of the Malakand division, and now it is badly affected after the imposition of taxes.
During the conference, PPP’s provincial senior vice-president Mohammad Ali Shah Bacha said that all the political parties, trade unions, lawyers, and journalists of Malakand will not allow the government to succeed by standing against this cruel attempt.
He recalled that such an office was set up at Batkhela some 3 years ago but it was abolished by the people and political and business organizations promptly.
Concluding the conference, APC issued a statement that demanded that the center should be removed from Sakhakot and the Malakand division should be announced as a tax-free division.
