Bilawal Eyes Leveraging Absence of Opponents From Karachi

Prime Minister Imran Khan hasn't paid a long and proper visit to Karachi despite winning a heavy mandate in general elections 2018 while MQM-P has also gone underground after joining hands with the ruling party in the center

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is eyeing Karachi to leverage the absence of opponents in Karachi.

PPP chairman visited different areas of the metropolitan city on Tuesday including Hasan Square, Gharibabad, Liaquatabad, Choona Depot, Lasbela, Patel Para, Empress Market, PECHS, Kidney Hill Park, Urban Forest in Clifton, etc.

He reviewed the development works and existing civic issues.

Bilawal also got briefings from officials on different development projects of the Sindh government underway in Karachi and directed to finish them at the earliest.

The sudden visit of the metropolis, after a long period, is being connected with the aims of PPP to strengthen their hold in Karachi before the next local government and general elections.

While talking to the media, Bilawal Bhutto lashed out at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan (MQM-P).

He said that the people of Karachi have recognized the reality of both parties and they are ready to give chance to PPP.

Notably, the local government system in Sindh dissolved nearly a year ago and the biggest city of the country is being run under administrators like other parts of the province.

PPP leader Murtaza Wahab has been recently appointed as the administrator of the metropolis and has vowed to resolve all major issues of the city in the next few months.

Prime Minister Imran Khan hasn’t paid a long and proper visit to Karachi despite winning a heavy mandate from the metropolis in general elections 2018 while MQM-P has also gone underground after joining hands with the ruling party in the center.

The citizens of the metropolis seem smarted from the premier over his non-attention to the economic hub of the country and Bilawal seems to leverage it.
