It is important to note here that All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS), Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA), Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) are the ones who staged protests against the proposed Pakistan Media Development Authority (PMDA) bill.
Therefore, experts say that if these media houses were not against the implementation of the PMDA bill, there was a strong possibility that Fawad Chaudhry and Shahbaz Gill would have been arrested for airing fake news regarding Junaid Safdar.
