FIA tells about how to curb cybercrimes against children

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has reported a rise in cybercrimes against children and spread an awareness message to curb the incidents.

ISLAMABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has reported a rise in cybercrimes against children and spread an awareness message to curb the incidents.

As per reports, most of the children became victims of cybercrimes who have not informed their parents regarding their internet activities and social media friends.

To curb the rate of cybercrimes against children, the FIA has spread an awareness message and stated that most of the information available on social media and the people they are talking to is unreliable, hence, sharing personal information will be dangerous to individuals, especially children.

The FIA cybercrime wing made recommendations for the children not to share their pictures and videos nor write addresses, phone numbers, details of their family members and passwords to anyone who is talking to them on social media.

The agency also asked the children to get guidance from their family members or parents regarding the people they met on social media as the parents are the best guides.

The agency also asked affected persons to immediately contact the FIA’s helpline 1991 in case of any trouble or visit the cybercrime reporting centre.
