IHC fixes plea challenging Imran Khan’s disqualification for hearing

The IHC will conduct the hearing on Monday over the petition challenging Imran Khan's disqualification in the Toshakhana case by ECP.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed the hearing of the petition challenging the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case.

Justice Aamer Farooq will conduct the hearing on Monday over the petition challenging Imran Khan’s disqualification in the Toshakhana case by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The Islamabad High Court has fixed the petition against the disqualification of Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan for hearing.

Some objections were raised on the petition by the IHC Registrar’s Office that was removed by Imran Khan’s legal team.

Through the petition, Khan challenged ECP’s decision to disqualify him in the Toshakhana case and pleaded with the high court to declare the verdict illegal. The IHC will decide on Monday, October 31, whether to suspend Imran Khan’s disqualification decision or not.

A five-member bench headed by CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja on October 21 ruled to disqualify Imran Khan under Article 63-1 in the Toshakhana case and also issued an order to register a criminal case against him.
