Journalist Spotted Quoting Half-Truth Abt Govt, Agencies

Mazhar Abbas was among the journalists who spoke against government and FIA when a case was registered against Absar Alam

Another journalist was spotted quoting only half-truth about the government and its agencies.

Senior journalist Mazhar Abbas confirmed that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cybercrime Wing has canceled the case against PEMRA ex-chairman Absar Alam registered in March this year.

He took to his Twitter account and shared the development with his followers and colleagues.

FIA Cybercrime Wing had registered a case against Absar Alam over alleged anti-state tweets on the complaint of a lawyer.

He had criticized the role of the establishment in politics in his social media posts.

Later, the former chairman of the PEMRA filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against FIA summon.

As per the latest details shared by journalist Mazhar Abbas, the case has been dismissed now.

The media workers accuse the PTI-led government of frightening the journalists who speak against it on digital platforms through FIA.

However, the whole scenario revealed the duplicity of the media workers who only criticize the government and its agencies but usually refrain from praising their meritocracy.

Mazhar Abbas was also among those who bashed FIA when the case on anti-state social media posts was registered against Absar Alam.

However, the same journalists do not mention that the same institutions, that register the cases, also dismiss them when the evidence is not found.
