Shahbaz Gill physical remand: IHC issues notices to police, jail officers
The IHC issued notices to the Adiala Jail Superintendent and Islamabad Police in a petition challenging Shahbaz Gill's physical remand.
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to the Adiala Jail Superintendent and Islamabad Police department in a petition challenging the physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr Shahbaz Gill in a sedition case.
The IHC summoned the station officer of Adiala Jail and the Islamabad Police at 3:00 pm today.
The IHC issued notices to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail and the police to attend the hearing this afternoon on a plea against the physical remand of Shahbaz Gill.

Acting Chief Justice of the IHC Aamer Farooq heard the petition filed against the remand of Gill.
Shahbaz Gul’s counsel Faisal Chaudhry and Shoaib Shaheen Advocate appeared in the hearing and while giving arguments, they said that the Additional Sessions Judge did not consider the legal points on the issue of remand, the lawyers were not allowed to meet Gill.

The judge remarked that it was learned from the media that the Superintendent of Jail Adiala is in PIMS Hospital. He has been summoned to the court at 3:00 so that the facts can be ascertained.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till 3:00 pm.
Earlier, the sessions court approved the physical remand of Gill following the government’s plea after the IHC ordered the local court to hear the review petition.
It is pertinent to mention here Shahbaz Gill was taken to the hospital after his health condition worsened at the jail yesterday.
