In a week, some three trains have derailed in three separate incidents in Sindh.
More than 50 people lost their lives and 200 were injured in a collision between Sir Syed Express and Millat Express near Ghotki. Ibtisam ul Hassan, who issued fitness certificate to Millat Express, has been suspended.
Khyber Mail traveling to Karachi derailed near Hyderabad but no casualty was reported in the incident.
In another incident, the engine of Karachi-bound Mohenjo Daro Express came off the track however no casualties were reported in the incident.
Between 2018 and 2021, an official report said some 455 train accidents occurred across the country in which 270 people were killed and 396 got injured.
