What Kind of Harassment is Moving IBA Students to Protest?

A student named Gabriel posted an eyewitness account of harassment on Facebook that backlashed as the Anti-Harassment Committee made fun of him

A video of students from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) is circulating on social media in which they are protesting against harassment done by their disciplinary committee (DC).

Earlier, a student named Gabriel posted an eyewitness account of harassment on Facebook that backlashed as the Anti-Harassment Committee (AHC) of IBA made fun of him.

In the video, Gabriel explained how AHC dealt with the matter when he went to file a complaint.

The committee asked him to submit his contact details but never contacted him back.

In another post on Facebook, Gabriel highlighted the incident again to which the committee dawdled, saying that due to technical issues they haven’t received his complaint officially.

Then, the whistleblower submitted a hard copy of the complaint.

Further, he added that the focal person of the anti-harassment body rejected the complaint, maintaining non-justification of claims.

As soon as the matter went viral, dozens of IBA students marched in support of Gabriel, chanting ‘we want justice’.

The protest was picked up by social activist Jibran Nasir who shared more insights into the matter.

He added that IBA’s disciplinary committee asked Gabriel to delete his post on Facebook, narrating the harassment incident as it brought a bad name to the institution, and post a public apology instead.

In response, Twitter users were surprised to know that an organization like IBA is showing such negligence towards harassment and questioned why the student is facing a hostile attitude from the management.
