Interestingly, the deletion of the app was first noticed by Apple Censorship, a website that monitors apps on Apple’s App Store globally.
The statement from the app’s maker says that the application has been removed from the China App Store because it includes content that requires additional documentation from Chinese authorities.
Further, Apple and Google removed a tactical voting app last month that was devised by jailed Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
It is to be noted that Quran Majeed isn’t the first application to be detached from the Chinese app store, Olive Tree’s Bible was also taken down this week.
Later, it was revealed that Olive Tree was required to provide a permit demonstrating its authorization to distribute an app with book or magazine content in mainland China.
