Saqib Nisar Alleged Audio Leak Case Turns Difficult for Petitioner

Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Minallah during the hearing of the alleged audio leak case of former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar has said that propaganda is being spread against me on social media that I am hanging out with a league leader while Attorney General Khalid Javed says that this proxy war is being fought for only one case.

A hearing was held on the petition filed by Saqib Nisar for investigation of alleged audio leak. Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Athar Minallah conducted the hearing. Attorney General Khalid Javed appeared for assistance on whether the petition was admissible or not.

President of Sindh High Court Bar Salahuddin Ahmed has filed a petition for investigation of alleged audio leak of Saqib Nisar.

During the hearing, Attorney General Khalid Javed said that the petition has been filed under Article 199, it seems that this is a proxy petition which he filed. He said there should be no impression that the petitioners were fighting someone else’s case.

The Attorney General said that sometimes we do not know that someone else is using us, it is a massive game against a judiciary, sometimes an audio, sometimes a fabricated document is released.

Assisting the court, Attorney General Khalid Javed said that it should be known why Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah was removed. To whom did the suitcase full of money go? All the living people are held accountable. Why come to court as a proxy for only one Prime Minister?

Addressing the petition, Chief Justice Athar Minallah said that who should this court direct for investigation? The Chief Justice, while showing copies of propaganda against him on social media, said that his picture was being spread that he was hanging out with a league.

The Chief Justice inquired whether the audio of Saqib Nisar came from any authoritative source. How can you say that the audio is authentic? I have also prepared something for you, should we start investigating it now?

Chief Justice Athar Minallah said that nowadays there is modern technology, anyone can make audio video, anyone can make audio and ask them to investigate it, if they start investigation on this audio then what will be the effect on pending appeals?

On this, Attorney General Khalid Javed said that this is what I am saying, everything goes round and round to an appeal. An appeal against the sentence is going on in this High Court.

Petitioner Salahuddin Advocate whose cases have not come to the court, my position is that the courts are being disputed, the judiciary can stop this process by conducting an investigation.
