IHC Wants Verdict of Noor Mukadam Case in 2 Months
In the 13-page long order, the court said that the suspects abetted the crime
Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected the bail pleas of Zahir Jaffer’s parents Zakir Jaffer and Ismat Adamjee and directed the trial court to complete the proceedings within two months.
During the court hearing, Justice Aamer Farooq pronounced the reserved verdict on the bail petitions of Zahir Jaffer’s parents.
In the 13-page long order, the court said that the suspects abetted the crime.

The parents knew that Zahir Jaffer had taken Noor Mukadam hostage but they did not inform the police.
The order said the watchman has clearly stated that he had informed Zakir Jaffer about the whole scenario.
It added that evidence of direct complicity cannot be applied as a general rule, adding abetting can be indirect as well.
The court said there are enough incidental evidence for this.
The order read that according to the black law dictionary, refraining from doing one’s duty is also a crime.
Zahir Jaffer confessed in his statement that he had informed his father before the murder.
However, the trial court will decide whether the prime suspect’s statement is acceptable or not.
The order said the father informed the Therapy Works owner after getting information from the watchman but did not inform the police.
Referring to the judgments of the Supreme Court (SC) in the verdict, the court said that aiding a murder is as serious as murder itself.
Zahir Jaffer’s parents had approached IHC for post-arrest bail after the district court rejected it.
The verdict was reserved on September 23.
