کرونا کی وباء کے باعث ورلڈ یوتھ اسکریبل کا عالمی مقابلہ آن لائن منعقد کیا جائے گا۔ چیمپئن شپ کی میزبانی کا اعزاز پاکستان کو دیا گیا ہے۔ 22 جنوری سے شروع ہونے والے اس مقابلے میں 16 ممالک کے 96 کھلاڑی حصہ لیں گے۔
کرونا وائرس نے دنیا بھر میں کھیلوں کی مختلف تقاریب کو بھی بری طرح متاثر کیا ہے۔ اسی وجہ سے اسکریبل کا عالمی مقابلہ وبا کے باعث پہلی مرتبہ آن لائن منعقد کیا جائے گا۔
22 جنوری سے شروع ہونے والی یوتھ اسکریبل چیمپئن شپ کی میزبانی ورلڈ انگلش لینگویج اسکریبل پلیئرز ایسوسی ایشن (ویسپا) نے پاکستان کو سونپی ہے۔
بین الاقوامی مقابلے میں 16 ممالک کے 96 کھلاڑی شریک ہوں گے۔ کوئٹہ گلیڈی ایٹرزکی جانب سے اسپانسر کیے جانے والے اس مقابلے کو ‘گلیڈی ایٹرز ویسپا یوتھ کپ’ کا نام دیا گیا۔

اس مرتبہ چیمپیئن شپ انفرادی نہیں بلکہ ٹیم کی صورت میں کھیلی جائے گی۔ ہر ٹیم 4 گروپس میں تقسیم ہوکر ایک دوسرے سے مقابلہ کرے گی۔ گروپ کی 2 ٹاپ ٹیمز کوارٹرفائنل میں جائیں گی۔
منتظمین کے مطابق چیمپئن شپ کا پہلا مرحلہ 22 سے 24 جنوری تک چلے گا۔ جس کے بعد 30 اور 31 جنوری کو دوسرا اور آخری مرحلہ 6 سے 7 فروری کے درمیان ہوگا۔ یہاں یہ بات قابل ذکر ہے کہ یوتھ اسکریبل مقابلے میں حصہ لینے والے تمام کھلاڑیوں کی عمریں 18 سال سے کم ہیں۔
پاکستان اسکریبل ایسوسی ایشن (پی ایس اے) کے ڈائریکٹر یوتھ پروگرام طارق پرویز کے مطابق عالمی آن لائن چیمپئن شپ 2021 کی تمام تر تیاریاں کرلی گئی ہیں۔ ایونٹ کے لیے پاکستان کی 6 رکنی ٹیم کا اعلان 17 جنوری کو کیا جائے گا۔ واضح رہے کہ پاکستانی ٹیم کو چیمپیئن شپ کی پسندیدہ ٹیموں میں شامل کیا گیا ہے۔
